Our Story

Aldag / Honold Mechanical, Inc.. (formerly Aldag Sheet Metal Works Inc.), established in 1929 by Marvin and Daisy Aldag, was incorporated as a Wisconsin Corporation in 1964. Sons, Jerome and Kenneth, continued the tradition as second-generation owners, and today, a third-generation, David Aldag, continues to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations as President of the firm.

In 1991, Aldag Sheet Metal Works, Inc. acquired the assets of the R. P. Honold Co., Inc. R. P. Honold Co., Inc. was founded in 1898. With this acquisition, the firm changed its name to Aldag / Honold Mechanical, Inc. To continue to “grow the company”, Aldag / Honold Mechanical, Inc. went on the purchase the assets of Carl Aldag & Sons, Inc. in 1993, Zimmermann Sheet Metal, Inc. in 1994, and TenPas Plumbing in 2000.

Aldag / Honold Mechanical, Inc. is a Design/Build Contractor providing Mechanical Services. We take pride in developing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with our customers. We specialize in commercial, institutional, and industrial applications. We have designed and installed Mechanical Systems throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest.

As a contractor, we understand the importance of projects being completed on time and within budget. We offer single-source responsibility from design to construction. We have multiple state licensed design professionals, as well as a staff of 60 trade personnel and environmental service technicians (staff of 15 available for 24-hour emergency service). We take pride in being flexible and responsive to the owner’s needs and schedules.

Our design professionals have a minimum of 20 years of experience, and our trade personnel serve a 5-year apprenticeship with additional years of experience prior to project supervision. The majority of our superintendents have twenty plus years of experience. Our team can take a mechanical project from conception to design, from CAD drawings, to state submittal, and complete the installation with single-source responsibility to the owner. Our service technicians are trained to install environmental control systems, perform preventative maintenance, balance air, and water systems, as well as troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems.

Our state-of-the-art fabrication facility is located in Sheboygan where we also specialize in custom fabrication for the food and dairy industry as well as custom enclosures for manufacturers and chemical process facilities.

Our company safety program has allowed our company to achieve an EMR as low as .55 (in 2004) and consistently remaining under .80. We have also received several safety awards over the years.

Our bonding capacity at this time is $2,000,000 per project (and can be adjusted, if needed) with a total bonding capacity of $7,500,000. We have completed projects in excess of $3,000,000.
