Scope Of Work
Located on the meandering Humboldt River just outside of Mill City, Nevada, the Humboldt River Irrigation Project included the installation of a new weir and hard armoring of the river bank. Approximately 1,400sf. of Submar articulated concrete block mats manufactured by Basalite, were installed by Q&D Construction of Sparks, Nevada. The 4 1/2-inch tall, M4540 open cell blocks were selected by Shaw Engineering of Reno, Nevada to protect the susceptible shoreline. Installed in January 2011, the hard armoring is protecting the sensitive shoreline upstream of the weir and irrigation canal.
