Edward S. Campanella-Rodriguez's Bio
Edward S. Campanella-Rodriquez is the President and founder of MBI Group. Mr. Campanella’s vision and hands-on direction has enabled the growth of MBI from a small interiors firm to a top rated general contracting and construction management organization. The firm serves many of the leading corporations in the Greater New York metropolitan region. The company is comprised of three construction divisions: Interiors, Mission Critical and Core & Shell.
A 25-year construction industry veteran, Edward S. Campanella-Rodriguez began his work as an apprentice and rose through the ranks of companies such as Ryder and Morse Diesel International. He pursued his education at the New York City Technical College where he earned a degree in Building Construction Technology. When Mr. Campanella graduated in 1984, he sought to change the perception of the construction marketplace, and in 1987, he began his own company—Manhattan Business Interiors, Inc. more commonly known as MBI Group.

Mr. Campanella is a member of several industry associations and has served leadership positions at philanthropic organizations including The Boys' Club of NY, the ASPCA and United Cerebral Palsy (UCP). Inspired by Mr. Campanella’s involvement in UCP, MBI Group repeatedly sponsored the UCP of Greater Suffolk’s Traditional Golf Classic to benefit the 3,000 children and adults with disabilities served each year by the agency’s programs and services. Mr. Campanella is an active member in the construction industry. His affiliations include memberships with The Regional Alliance and the New York Building Congress. Jason Y. Chen's Bio
Jason Y. Chen serves as Vice President, Estimating for MBI Group.
Mr. Chen is responsible for overseeing MBI Groups estimating department, preparing bid packages, contractor and subcontractor negotiations and purchase orders and assisting with change orders and cost projection analysis.
Mr. Chen has been with MBI Group from inception and has served the construction industry for over 25 years. Prior to his position at MBI Group, Mr. Chen served as an estimator/assistant project manager for NUCOR Construction Corp., where he was responsible for estimating quality surveys and preparing bid proposals based on/originating from blueprints, purchase orders, change orders and field
coordination.
In his previous position, Mr. Chen quickly moved up the ranks at IL SUNG Construction Corp., beginning as the firm’s assistant junior estimator and soon became project engineer. In this position, Mr. Chen was stewarding the firm's engineering department and coordinating department work schedules, prepared construction bid packages with the firm’s chief engineer as well as blueprints, codes and specifications.
Mr. Chen was born in Taiwan and he received degrees from Wentworth Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Engineering Technology and an Associate Degree in Applied Science: Building Construction Engineering Technology. He began his work in professional construction as an assistant supervisor at Pao Teh Construction Co. in Taipei, Taiwan. He was in charge of the company’s drafting activities, light estimating, take-offs and field engineering. Mr. Chen has completed the occupational safety and health training course with Associated Builders and Contractors Inc., earning an OSHA Safety Certificate.

Jean Greenlaw's Bio
Jean Greenlaw serves as Vice President, Special Projects for MBI Group.
Ms. Greenlaw joined the MBI team over 18 years ago, beginning as an office administrator and continued to be promoted throughout the last decade, ultimately reaching her current position. In this capacity, Ms. Greenlaw’s current responsibilities include working closely with the firm’s President and founder, Edward S. Campanella-Rodriquez, and Senior Management advancing MBI's Business Development Department, assisting in the company's operations and coordinating the firm’s insurance policies and employee benefit programs.
Ms. Greenlaw interacts with the firm’s outside professionals as well as clients, architects, attorneys and all internal MBI departments on a daily basis. Working with the firm’s President, Ms. Greenlaw oversees the firm’s new business development department, creating the firm’s proposals for new projects and opportunities. In addition, Ms. Greenlaw leads the firm’s marketing initiatives for increasing MBI Group’s exposure in the marketplace, the development of a formal marketing department, the design of a corporate identity as well as production of corporate collaterals, such as MBI's marketing brochures and quarterly newsletters.
A hands-on professional, Ms. Greenlaw works closely with the firm’s project personnel, overseeing the production of contracts, permit and project start-up requirements, as well as all special situations. She also collaborates with MBI Group’s estimating department and select project managers on the development of guaranteed maximum price (GMP) proposals.
MBI’s staff knows Ms. Greenlaw as an exemplary “do-it-all professional.” She was instrumental in coordinating the firm’s relocation to 145 West 45th Street and current office at 48 West 37th Street—including managing lease negotiations, office design and construction—as well as integrating the firm’s technology which includes 65 workstations, 6 servers with redundancy, routers, wireless technologies and the Nortel telephone system for both the home office as well as the remote field office.
Prior to joining MBI Group, Ms. Greenlaw served as the office manager for Soovia Janis, Inc., reporting to the owner of this giftware and decorative art showroom. In this position, she supervised office operations and staff, trained new employees and served as the firm’s liaison for buyers, designers, sales representatives and suppliers.
She earned both a Bachelor of Arts degree as well as an Associates degree in Interior Design, with a minor in Small Business Studies from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Ms. Greenlaw has also attended New York University for certificate classes in Classical Architecture, Compensation and Employee Benefit Management, Construction Management and Construction Estimating. She recently completed Site Sense II Training which focuses on Project Site Pre-Planning, At-Risk Behavior Modification and Effective Field Supervision.
In addition, she has continued to build upon her knowledge and expertise in the construction industry by participating in site-safety managers courses, obtaining her home improvement contractor's license, and becoming a member of the Professional Women in Construction National Association, AREW and SMPS.

John Prendergast's Bio
John J. Prendergast serves as a Vice President, Project Management, Senior Project Director, for MBI Group.
Serving as Vice President Project Management at MBI Group, Mr. Prendergast has consistently carried out multi-million dollar projects, differing in size as well as scope. A couple of recent examples include: Miraval Living (formerly known as River Terrace Apartments), 7 WTC/ConEdison Substation and The Boys' Club of NY. The multi-year and multi-phase 437,000 square foot renovation at River Terrace: Miraval Living includes the conversion of the apartment units into premier residential units along with upgrading the amenities including the lobby, exterior facade, gym, health club, and gardens.
A seasoned construction professional with over 25 years of experience, Mr. Prendergast is responsible for all aspects of project management, expediting of approvals and materials as well as managing the daily activities of MBI Group's subcontractors as well as its project personnel, both in the field and in the office. Mr. Prendergast recently completed a 10-hour OSHA class as well as 7-hour Site Safety class as part of his ongoing commitment to safety at construction sites. He also interacts with clients as well as architects, engineers and consultants on a daily basis.
A technology and telecommunications expert, Mr. Prendergast managed the $16 million, 60,000 s.f. co-location facility for Network Plus, an integrated telecommunications provider as well as a data center host, built to satisfy the most demanding requirements of today’s Internet service providers, dot.com companies and Telco hotels, among others.
Mr. Prendergast began his career with MBI Group as a construction superintendent, responsible for scheduling of trades, problem solving and quality control. Earlier in his career, Mr. Prendergast served as a field superintendent for Tarrant Inc., based in Edison, New Jersey. This position called for the organization of manpower and equipment, supervising the erection of structural and miscellaneous steel projects and producing and organizing shop drawings.
He began his work in the construction industry at A.H. Harrison & Sons, Inc. as the head of drafting before assuming the position of head of engineering/drafting department at Structural Accessories, Inc. In this capacity, Mr. Prendergast reorganized the firm’s drafting department by utilizing a CAD system in addition to preparing shop drawings for various types of bridge expansion joints, pot bearings and steel items.
Mr. Prendergast earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey as well as an Associates degree in Civil/Construction Engineering Technology from Middlesex County College.
Vincent Manciameli's Bio
Vincent Manciameli serves as Assistant Vice President of Project Management/Senior Project Director for MBI Group.

Mr. Manciameli’s client list at MBI includes Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate, The Lincoln Building, Brown Harris Stevens, Orangetown Jewish Center, Newmark Knight Frank, Reader's Digest, Swig Equities LLC and CB Richard Ellis Real Estate. Mr. Manciameli recently completed the renovation of The Exchange at 25 Broad Street. This particular project is comprised of the restoration of amenities and the 346 residential units of this 21-floor 565,000 sf building. This ability to cater to clients' needs and expectations has led to a rise in MBI Group's repeat business with clients such as Swig Equities LLC, CB Richard Ellis Real Estate and Prudential Douglas Elliman. He is currently working on Phase 6 of the condo conversion at Miraval Living.
Prior to joining MBI, Mr. Manciameli served as project manager for Bovis Lend Lease, LMB, Inc. His duties included multi-project management, cost negotiations, scope and design analysis, change orders, phasing and scheduling, progress reports, contract administration, proposals and claims, quality control, safety and code compliance. Mr. Manciameli also served as the owner’s representative for the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA), where his responsibilities included the accurate and timely completion of multiple projects ranging from new school building additions to existing reconstruction and upgrades.
As project manager for LWC Construction Inc., Mr. Manciameli managed the day-to-day operations of multi-million dollar construction projects including corporate interior, new construction and office/retail space fit-outs. His responsibilities included multi-project management, cost negotiations, proposals and claims, phasing and scheduling, scope and design analysis, change orders, progress reports and contract administration.
Early in his career, Mr. Manciameli served as an associate at S.M.A. Associates, P.C., an architectural/engineering firm specializing in commercial and residential design projects. His responsibilities there included project design, programming, design development, contract documents and contract administration.
Prior to his work at S.M.A., Mr. Manciameli served as project director for The City of New York Division of Design and Construction (DDC). In this role he acted as the agency’s representative and was in charge of implementing and managing the Department of Correction’s multi-million dollar capital construction budget. His direct responsibilities included the design and construction of various correctional facility projects including new facility construction, existing facility renovations, upgrades and rehabilitations.
Mr. Manciameli holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from The City College of New York and a Value Engineering Certificate from The American Society of Value Engineering (ASVE).
Operations
Joseph Esposito's Bio
Joseph Esposito serves as Vice President Operations at MBI Group. His responsibilities include managing all aspects of estimating, pre-construction and construction. He plays an instrumental role in the daily operations of all projects.
Mr. Esposito possesses close to 40 years of construction experience and has run the gamut of roles throughout his seasoned career — beginning as a laborer and progressing through the ranks of foreman, supervisor, estimator and eventually director of operations.
At MBI Group, he develops and implements strategies to maximize quality, customer satisfaction, efficiency, and company performance while maintaining a strict deference to operational and fiscal oversight. Coordinating the Project Management and Field Operation Departments, Mr. Esposito supervises all pre-construction and estimating activities for major commercial and residential projects. This includes convening with consultants in the review of drawings as well as scheduling, constructibility and budget activities. In addition, Mr. Esposito’s supervisory role continues through to all aspects of project management from team assignments; startup through closeout. He additionally liaises with the Director of Field Operations to ensure that all quality and safety oversights have been met to MBI’s standard.
Prior to joining MBI Group, Mr. Esposito spent 10 years in a senior level operational capacity with Corporate Builders Group – a New York based General Contracting and Construction Management firm. His responsibilities included overall operations, contract administration, project scheduling, QA/QC in addition to cost control, progress reports, change order negotiations, and requisitions among other client relation duties.
Mr. Esposito holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.
Business Development, Marketing & Sales
Theodore Hiotis's Bio
Theodore Hiotis serves as Director Business Development for MBI.
As Director in charge of Business Development for MBI, Theodore Hiotis works to expand MBI’s presence in the construction industry, targeting specific industry sectors and public agencies to build new relationships. He also works closely with the firm’s existing clients to expand and enhance these relationships.
In this capacity, Mr. Hiotis works extensively with the MBI team to develop strong client relationships, and ensure effective marketing and information management. Mr. Hiotis’ responsibilities also include making presentations and creating introductions with potential clients and helping to close new business deals.
Prior to joining MBI Group, Theodore Hiotis honed much of his business management and development skills through upper-level management positions in various industries. Mr. Hiotis has acted as President and CEO of Royal Furs, a retailer of fur coats as well as Fantastic Furs, a wholesale company that sold fur coats throughout the U.S. and Europe. In 1995, he became licensed as a financial advisor and worked for Joseph Gunner as Vice President of Investments, later moving into the role of Senior Vice President of Investments at Gunn Allen Financial. Mr. Hiotis attended both Baruch College and the Fashion Institute of Technology.
