Scope Of Work
The project called for the replacement of the decorative fencing at the Milwaukee Federal Courthouse which dates back to the late 1800's. The black ornamental iron fencing was installed in the 1960's and was rusting in the concrete base. We needed to match the existing fencing which is also used in the courthouse handrails and window surrounds.
The GSA supplied the mold for the top cap of the railing pedestal. Multiple problems arose during the fence replacement including availability of suitable metals, the fabrication and the installation into an existing granite sidewalk edge.
Working with the GSA, we found solutions which resulted in a replica of the original design while using materials that will last.
