Scope Of Work

Located above 17-Mile Drive, this residence sits on 2.5 acres that look south over Carmel Bay towards Pt. Lobos and the Highland Inn.  The white sanded beach glimpsed below the property is one of the sites where Elizabeth Taylor filmed National Velvet in 1944.    On this project, Walton & Sons Masonry built fireplaces, constructed site walls and set stone paving.

The site walls are built with an 80/20 blend of stone.  We used 80% Chief Cliff Stone and 20% Kennesaw Grey Stone.  Originally, Chief Cliff was obtained from a rock formation west of Flathead Lake in Northwest Montana.  Today, it is an argilite stone with bold tans, browns, and grays that signifies the rich stone character that built the west.    The Fireplaces have a veneer of Kennesaw Grey and the stone paving is laid with Connecticut Blue Full Range.

Decorative Rock Network in Wallace, Ca, supplied all of the stone materials.
