Scope Of Work

This project is located at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, Chesapeake Biological Laboratory Research Pier in Solomons, Maryland. Stringent university requirements were followed, including all submittals and documentation, as well as the actual field work.  The work itself consisted of removing existing deteriorated timber piles, beams and decking at the existing pier and replacing with new as well as new hardware in pier members; furnishing and installing new structural members in pavilion area, removing existing bay water pumps in pump house and reinstalling on elevated platform, furnishing and installing new emergency electrical generator and electric lines to pier, upgrading existing electrical service to pier and pavilion area, raising the roof of the existing pier pump house and constructing new equipment platforms, enlarging the existing equipment room in the pump house, furnishing and installing a new floating dock structure at the end of the pier, miscellaneous repairs to the grounds and landscaping.
