Scope Of Work

Specialized Engineering scope of services consists of performing construction materials testing and inspection services such as in-place density and moisture testing, soil bearing inspection, cast-in-place concrete inspection and testing, concrete compressive strength testing, masonry inspection, structural steel inspection, stone base compaction testing, asphalt testing, and laboratory testing. Services are performed on both renovation and new construction projects. Specialized Engineering has provided services on nearly 50 projects under this contract. The following are subject project examples Specialized Engineering has been awarded under this contract:

Woodson High School: Project consisted of several additions and significant renovations to the existing high school. Specialized Engineering’s scope of services consisted of performing field-testing and inspection and laboratory testing services. These services included soil compaction testing, proofroll inspections, foundation inspections, reinforcing steel inspection, cast-in-place concrete sampling, testing of structural steel bolting, visual weld inspections, masonry inspections, concrete cylinder compressive strength testing, soil moisture determination, Atterberg limits and gradation, and Proctor determination.

Herndon Elementary School: Project consisted of the construction and installation of multiple modular unit classrooms. Specialized Engineering’s scope of services consisted of performing field-testing and inspection, and laboratory testing services. These services included soil compaction testing, reinforcing steel inspection, cast-in-place concrete sampling, testing of structural steel bolting and visual weld inspections, concrete cylinder compressive strength testing, soil moisture determination, Atterberg limits and gradation, and Proctor determination.

Laurel Hill Elementary School: Project consisted of new construction of a 98,000 sf two-story elementary school. Specialized Engineering’s scope of services consisted of performing field-testing and inspection, and laboratory testing services. These services included soil compaction testing, reinforcing steel inspection, cast-in-place concrete sampling, testing of structural steel bolting and visual weld inspections, masonry inspections, concrete cylinder compressive strength testing, soil moisture determination, Atterberg limits and gradation, and Proctor determination.
