Scope Of Work
400 North Church is the multifamily residential component of the Transamerica Square development, a full city block sized mixed-use project developed by Bank of America. The development provides and important transition and link between First Ward, one of Charlotte’s most historic neighborhoods, and the adjacent North Tryon Street business corridor.
400 North Church consists of a seven-story, mid-rise condominium project comprised of eighty-four luxury residential units. Also incorporated within the overall development are three levels of parking, two of which are below grade. The building faces the streets and sidewalks along three sides of the block and also addresses an internal multi-purpose plaza shared by a flanking office building and forming a central courtyard. Ground level townhouse style units are accessed directly from the sidewalks via stairs, raised stoops and porches.
400 North Church is the recipient of the 1996 AIA Charlotte Honor Award for Design, the 1999 NC Brick Association Brick Award and has been the focal point of several articles on the residential development of the uptown area.
