Micheal Laurence's Bio
Our Master Plumber is Micheal Laurence, the Papa Pride or sometimes referred to as ‘Makin’ It Happen’ Mike. Upon becoming a singel parent just over 20 years ago, Mike fell into plumbing work and settled in Porter to take care of his son and dirty diapers. Ever since then he has been taking care of sanitation and water needs for Houston area families and businesses.
Papa Pride has mentored many new plumbers and continues to coach tradesmen toward careful and thoughtful mastery of plumbing skills. Mike created Pride Plumbing so that a skilled team of plumbers could have continual work on multiple plumbing projects whether from large business owners or single homeowners.
With his hard-headed reputation as ‘Makin’ it happen’ Mike, he is often consulted to create or implement solutions for the challenges arising out of a city of rusty, crusty pipes woven within newer water systems as in complex renovations or historical projects. Mike likes to look into proposed or new development and makes time to develop conceptual plumbing plans and estimates to help developers and general contractors developing business and funding. Sometimes the architects or project managers catch the stubborn Mr. Pride for advice on code compliance issues and hints on materials. With even greater plumbing innovations coming up the pipeline for an industrious city, one can expect to find Mike in the middle of the conversation always with something interesting to say or a surprising observation.
Now a grandpa, Papaw Pride now looks forward to being part of solutions to meet the challenges for our next generations. ‘Make It Happen’ Mike will not only find ways for businesses and residents to reduce water and energy consumption, he will propel the vision for complete elimination of water waste using efficient localized water reclamation systems safely return water to the community and also produce energy. Joining a growing group of sustainability minded professionals in the city, this Porter based plumber has another motivation for helping a growing metropolis to meet its water and sanitation needs within ecological balance. Mike hopes that his family will further enjoy the green piney wood refuges of Porter where he settled north of Lake Houston a generation ago. Little did he know then that the recreational waterfront that drew him there would represent a career and a lifestyle beyond just making a living or his own family survival but for all folks to thrive in the business around water.
Once you meet Papa Pride not only you will understand why the dedication and workmanship of his team are in demand; but you will be glad you chose Pride Plumbing because their team leader is a character thas more fun than Super Mario because he likes to inspire and make a surprisingly pleasant experience out of nasty plumbing work. Regardless of the heat or stress, you will often find Mike in the field happily working with his tools. Mike is Makin’ it Happen as he mentors his son Mike along with other aspiring craftsmen in this trade growing green with the technology to keep our precious water clean and bountiful. Perhaps Papa Pride will have inspired the next generation of papas to become the heroic crafty pros who proudly wield water and keep our society in good health.
