Scope Of Work
The Burnham Institute for Medical Research, a California-based medical research institute, established a major research facility in Orlando, Florida, which provides the organization with bicoastal operations.
BCH Mechanical Inc. was selected to be part of the construction team in a “design assist” role. BCH then moved directly into the construction phase to insure the highest quality systems were obtained in a cost effective manner for the maximum benefit to the owner. This was an intense mechanical project. Three-stories,178,000 square feet designed with lab hoods, Phoenix air valves, custom air handlers with special attenuation, specialized exhaust and energy recovery systems, stainless steel ductwork, and full direct digital controls. The plumbing system included sanitary, storm, medical gas, laboratory, domestic, and de-ionized water.
BCH provided full HVAC and Plumbing systems on this facility with over $15 million of mechanical work in place on this one year project.
