Scope Of Work
The project consisted of an extreme renovation of an old Wal-Mart building that was turned into a new public library for the City of McAllen, Texas in 2011. Maxim provided large roof systems and multiple 48" X 96" unit skylights to bring a large amount of diffused light into the new library. Maxim had a diffused white polycarbonate specially manufactured for the project. In 2012 McAllen was absolutely pummelled by one of the worst hail storms Texas has ever seen. The library was in the direct path and not one unit skylight had to be replaced. The roof systems sustained minor damage to the extruded frames but not one failure was noted and the interior of the building experienced no water or air infiltration. This is the goal of hail and windstorm resistance.
