Scope Of Work
Maxim Skylights was chosen to provide bomb & blast resistant skylights for Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe, Hawaii. Not only was bomb & blast resistance mission critical, but hurricane and windstorm protection from airborne debris is a major concern on all of the Hawaiian Islands. Maxim Skylights was again up to the task providing extreme peak reflected pressure at 6.97psi and positive phase impulse at 40psi-msec for a no hazard rating to protect the building on the base.
Maxim has repeatedly be the skylight of choice to meet the Department of Defense (DoD), GSA and ASTM standards including; ASTM F1642, ASTM F2912, GSA-TS01, PDC-TR 10-02, UFC 4-010-01, UL 972, ULF588, and FM 4331. Combined with TAS 201, TAS 202, TAS 203, ASTM 1886/1996, and compliance to OSHA fall through protection, Maxim Skylights has repeated provide skylights without an equal.
From Building Industry Hawaii magazine October 2018; The MV-22 Ospreys, the primary assault support aircraft for the U.S. Marine Corps since 2007, have a spacious new hangar in Kaneohe. In January 2016, Hensel Phelps broke ground for NAVFAC Pacific on the 71,074-square-foot P907 MV-22 Parking Apron and Infrastructure project as well as the P908 MV-22 Hangar at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
