Scope Of Work
Maxim Skylights was again tasked with providing a skylight that was yet to exist. Maxim designed, tested and provided a blast resistant skylight to meet the extreme standards of ASTM/GSA/Dod with a 6.97psi, 40psi-msec positive phase impulse, no hazard rating skylight for the new Exchange building at Freedom Crossing at Joint Base San Antonio – Fort Sam Houston. The skylights provided also meet Miami-Dade County product control approval for the HVHZ, Texas Department of Insurance impact and windstorm approval,OSHA & Cal-OSHA fall through protection guidelines, ASTM 1886/1996 large & small missile impact resistance, ASTM F588 & UL 972 forced entry protection, and FM 4431 hail protection.
This project provids the bomb and blast resistance requierments of the DoD as well as thermal performance while allowing large amounts of natural light into the shopping mall and hallways.
