Scope Of Work
In 2005, Fisher Field, home to the Lafayette Leopards, was slated for major renovations including new seating, lighting and turf. The upgrades were financed by generous donations from alumni. As the field project neared completion, additional donors were sought to finance a new stadium scoreboard. NW Sign Industries designed the signage and partnered with Multimedia LED to create the scoreboard.
Scope:
Work began in late July, with a request that the entire project from fabrication to installation be completed in six weeks. Installation began in mid-August. NW Sign Industries installers encountered a variety of challenges including poor soil conditions and a very tight timeline. Installers performed site preparation - excavation, shoring, and adding forms for the steel posts. Post foundations were poured using a special quick setting concrete. By September 16, 2006, installation was complete, and the sign was up and fully operational - just in time for the season’s home opening game.
