Carlisle TPO Roofing Installed at Millipore Sigma

Scope Of Work
Tecta America New England's Billerica, MA crew worked with Building Envelope Technologies, Inc., the consultant on the job, to install a new 25,500 sq. ft. Carlisle white TPO fully adhered roofing system for Millipore Sigma’s Building D warehouse in Bedford, MA. We received detailed FM 1-90 specifications and followed them during installation.
The project included installing new 3" polyisocyanurate and 1/2" thick HDPI cover board using Carlisle’s low-rise, VOC-free FAST adhesive over the existing substrate to achieve a total R-value of 31.3. Specifications called for copper caps on the vent pipes,
copper sleeper caps, as well as copper penetration pans. Carlisle’s Sure-Weld TPO walkway pads with diamond plate tread pattern were installed in foot path areas and in front of serviceable equipment to prolong the longevity of the new roof.
Eight smoke hatches which incorporated new steel fall protection screens were installed, along with a counterbalanced guardrail system on the south end of the roof and two new roof safety fall arrest anchors utilizing plates and bolted connections.
One of the reasons we were chosen for this job was Millipore’s requirement to start the project within days of signing the contract. Tecta America New England’s team met that challenge and finished within the time frame given.
