Scope Of Work
Not only a Cathedral, this project encompasses a landscaped plaza, 200 space parking facility, parish offices, parish hall, conference center, dining for 350, Catholic Life Center, chancery offices, rectory, bishop's residence, café and bookstore. The cathedral itself will seat 1500 people. Designed for a 300 year life span, the cathedral sits on seismic isolators, requiring all plumbing systems in and out of the space to be designed and installed for 3'-0" of movement. Included in the plumbing scope was the Baptismal Font, one of the focal points of the church. The Mechanical Systems for the Font were designed and installed by Lescure Company. This was a Design/Assist project for Lescure. This project won a McGraw-Hill Construction award for Design in 2008.
