Scope Of Work

The Arlington is a new, luxury resort-style continuing care retirement community located on 39 acres within the award-winning Lely Resort in Naples, FL. The project commenced site and infrastructure construction in October 2013 and work on the main building began in January 2014. Preferred Materials provided a total of 25,000 cubic yards of concrete for the 477,000 square foot complex which now features: a parking garage, a five-story, 132-unit independent living apartment building, a three-story health center, an indoor aquatic center, an outdoor pool, an enclosed spa and fitness center, and a multicultural learning center. A wide array of concrete mix designs were needed for the various structural components: plasticized post-tension 6,000 psi concrete for elevated decks, plasticized concrete for columns, shearwalls and foundations, extruded concrete curb (SlipReady), masonry fill cell grout (BlockReady), fiber reinforced concrete for slab on grade and pre-cast topping applications, and finally, water repellent concrete for deep foundations and elevator pits.

The project completed in June 2015 and residents will begin occupying the facility in the fall.
