Scope Of Work
This project consists of wall paneling and a reception desk in the main lobby of the Inland Valley Transportation Center shared by the CHP and Cal Trans. 42 sheets of FSC quartered maple veneer were used for the wall paneling and face of the reception desk. The reception desk top is laminate. The finish was hand glazed using 4 different colors. The colors selected were extremely difficult to achieve on Maple. Each “layer” of the paneling is set at a different depth creating a 3D tiered look.
The finishing and “layering” of the paneling made this a very challenging project.
The project took 240 man hours to produce in the shop, 100 man hours to apply the finish and 160 man hours to install over a 3 week time period.
