Scope Of Work

As part of its campus remodel, Saint Augustine High School first hired DPR to build a new, ground-up gym and sports facility. With the old gym now available, the next phase of work consisted of repurposing the space into a center for performing arts.

The existing facility was built in the 1950s, so hazardous demolition and removal played a large role in the early stages of construction. STC sound rated doors and walls (both interior and exterior) were integrated into the design in order to keep the main auditorium free from outside noise during performances. The power feeding in the new theater was also upgraded to accommodate new state of the art theatrical lighting and equipment, a new elevator and overall modernization of the building.
