Scope Of Work
In order to build the new retail complex, 50 residential and commercial structures had to be demolished on the property and expansive clearing and grading activities were performed. In addition, all utilities had to be terminated or relocated and new utilities were set-up to accommodate the retail development. Due to the topography, the site also required approximately 500,000 cubic yards of fill, and the construction of a massive boulder retaining wall system that was pre-engineered to raise the site to the proper elevation.
Along with the construction of the plaza, improvements were also made to the Ballwin Elementary School parking lots and the Old Ballwin School was physically relocated. The timing of the work was critical due to the proximity of Ballwin Elementary, which required a phased construction schedule and an extended detour plan.
