Aurora Contractors has completed its Construction Management contract for the new 95,000 SF Hilton Garden Inn on the campus of Stony Brook University. The five-story, 135 room hotel is situated near the Main Campus Entrance and features an indoor pool, 5,000 SF meeting space, a restaurant, exercise room and sundry shop. The Hilton Garden Inn featured a brick façade with a look similar to the nearby Humanities Building.
The hotel has completed its LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification review and has received LEED "Certified" status. In addition to the LEED components used in the construction of the hotel, there are energy efficient elements built into the hotel operations.
