Scope Of Work
The Kite Realty Group chose Shiel Sexton to be their General Contractor for the redevelopment of the Rivers Edge shopping plaza at 82nd and Dean Road, on the north side of Indianapolis. Kite invested over $15 million to expand and upgrade the center for new tenants. The 111,000 sf. expansion included demolition, new construction, new façades, new pylon signage, site work upgrades and landscape upgrades.
New retail anchors for the center included Nordstrom Rack (35,000 sf. new construction), The Container Store (22,000 sf. new construction), buybuy BABY (26,000 sf. new construction), Arhaus Furniture (shell construction), and Harry & Izzy’s (shell construction).
The entire construction process on this project was extremely detailed and was completed in several phases. The project's scope included surgical demolitions of portions of the retail center, complete interior upgrades, and facade and exterior improvements. As each store finished its renovation, it opened for business. The construction team worked around an active site with constantly changing construction areas, all while maintaining a clean and safe environment for patrons and store owners.
