Scope Of Work

When Camp Glisson decided to replace their old historic dining hall with a new one to accommodate all the campers at one seating, they called on the expertise of Swofford Construction to help with value engineering, constructability, cost estimating and eventual construction. This is the third project Swofford successfully constructed for the camp and was special in many ways, including, earning Swofford Construction another first place award at the AGC Build Georgia competition. All of the stone for veneer and the fireplace was native to the area and was gathered from the camp property by the stone masons. The fireplace mantle was milled from a black walnut tree that needed to be removed from the property prior to construction. Also, a marble altar was used in the chapel that was quarried in Calvary and gifted to the camp by the architect.
