Scope Of Work
Because of the success of First Baptist Dallas’ major campus transformation designed by Beck in 2013, the church’s education program for children and adults has grown tremendously. To accommodate this growth, First Baptist Dallas once again engaged Beck to design new education facilities. The education space envisioned is a two level, 82,300 square foot addition to the 5 story Horner Family Center and Parking Garage.
The new floor levels will expand the Horner Building (originally designed as space for children and youth) to provide a true family center. New spaces will provide additional auditoriums and classrooms for elementary age children, but also for over 1000 adults. Families will now have the ability of parking and attending Bible study classes all in the same location – a huge convenience and positive experience for guests and members alike at this leading urban church. To enhance uses on weekdays and into the future, all of the education spaces are also equipped with technology and are sized to accommodate a wide variety of groups. Beck’s design concept also integrates comfortable, flexible gathering zones to encourage personal and family connection and informal gatherings for the large church congregation outside of their classrooms.
