Scope Of Work

Over the past few decades, growth within the central New York region prompted changes, including consideration of additional parking at Syracuse Hancock International Airport. Not only are traveling habits evolving, but the parking structure, built in the early 1980s, requires major repairs or replacement. The existing parking structure was evaluated to determine annual and lifecycle maintenance costs.

Parking operations were reviewed to estimate future parking demand, identify opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, and provide recommendations for technology and wayfinding solutions. A cost/benefit analysis evaluated maintaining the existing parking structure versus building a new parking structure to better suit current traveling needs. As a result of this study, we:

• Estimated future parking demand over a 10-year horizon
• Developed multiple concepts for new parking structures to serve the airport
• Created cost estimates for both restoration of existing facilities and construction of new parking
