Scope Of Work

As part of the renovation of Disney Village, a stormwater treatment  was needed to provide a new settling rake for water quality, as well as a control structure to limit the amount of water discharged. A walkway system using structured-steel sheeting and cast-in-place concrete was designed for the Disney Imagineering-developed concept bridge that functions as both a control structure and pedestrian walkway. 

A weir system along the walkway allows water to flow over the bisected lake/lagoon and provides the water storage and relief required to maintain water quality. The weir system of sheet piles was installed utilizing press-in technology, eliminating the vibration caused by conventional vibratory steel installation. The press-in technology allowed adjacent businesses to remain open during construction. The final structure was embellished with the look and aesthetics associated with an old-fashioned swing bridge.
