Scope Of Work
The Pearl District Marriott Residence Inn is a six-story, 223-guestroom mid-scale extended stay hotel. The layout of the building is in a “U” shape open to the south with a ground-level courtyard and passenger loading area in the courtyard. Public spaces on the ground floor include the lobby, a lounge/breakfast area, conference rooms, pool and an exercise area for use by hotel guests.
Bold architectural features, including brightly colored perforated screens on the west elevation and boldly colored metal panels on the northeast elevation, bring color to the project and seek to enter into a dialogue with the colors of nearby landmark structures. The large courtyard enhances the experience by offering a unique place for pedestrians.
The project is targeting LEED Silver and features sustainable design strategies such as a green roof, covered bike storage to support alternative transportation, a highly efficient building envelope, high-efficiency water fixtures and energy conservation measures including daylighting. In addition, at least 20% of the project’s building materials was sourced from local manufacturers and suppliers located within 500 miles from project site, thereby reducing transportation energy while supporting the local economy.
