To say that Mike DePalma understands this business from the ground up is an understatement. With guidance from his father, a union carpenter, Mike joined the carpenters union. He quickly became a foreman at the age of 23 and worked steadily over the next 20 years. In 1997, he recognized an opportunity to venture out on his own and DePalma Contracting, Inc. was born. He saw the need for a quality-conscience carpentry contracting company that understood the promise of meeting deadlines and the need to deliver a superior work product.
What began in a small one-room office and with the help of his wife Mary Jane, they worked together for the next seven years. Just one year later, their daughter Jessica joined the business as an estimator and motivated Mike even more to build what has evolved into a sought after commercial carpentry business that has executed the construction of multi-million dollar projects as well as retail spaces in major shopping malls.
In addition to his duties as President of DePalma Contracting, Mike is also the Past-President of BCASJ (2006-2010) and currently serves on the organizations Board of Directors.
