Scope Of Work

This project provided site recovery activities for the construction of a two (2) story flagship Dick’s Sporting Goods store. The demolition and removal included the former Staples and Old Navy structures located at the Sycamore Plaza in Kenwood, Ohio.  The structures were originally part of a large traditional shopping mall that was later segmented in to adjoining big box stores. The structures were demolished complete, including removal of below grade foundations, unless their removal had the possibility to undermine or compromise surrounding construction or utilities.  In addition, O’Rourke assisted the General Contractor to access and devise shoring such that the selective demolition necessary to separate the structures was achievable. All this was accomplished while maintaining operations for the remainder of the Mall facility. Rigorous attention was given to dust control, maintenance of traffic, and other safety concerns.
