Construction Duration – 15 months
This project implements the L shaped prototypical design to serve 900 Pre-K-8th grade students. At the request of the Chicago Public Schools, the facility was modified to accommodate a middle school program, which serves students ranging from 6th to 8th grade. The decision to change from an elementary school to a middle school was made six weeks prior to delivering the project and necessitated unexpected view work during this six week period. This project is a steel frame and masonry construction building including science, computer, music, and art classrooms, in addition to library, gymnasium, synthetic turf field, and dining facilities. LEED features include a 25% green roof.
