Scope Of Work

To broaden the academic opportunities for its students, Christian Brothers High School embarked on an expansion project for its Science, Math and Technology Wing. The two-story, 333,888-square-foot high-tech facility was funded through private contributions, requiring Alston Construction to closely monitor the service fees from all the suppliers to maintain the project budget. To help meet budgetary requirements, Alston Construction lowered its service fees and convinced many of its consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to do the same.

Alston Construction  as the construction and project managers of the new wing of the school, which placed a strong emphasis on advanced educational audiovisual systems. Every room in the new wing was outfitted with digital LCD projectors and screens, in-room VCRs, laptops, document cameras, recessed speakers, audio tuners and Crestron controls.

In addition to the technology equipment, the Science, Math and Technology Wing included seven lecture rooms, a multimedia center, physics and physical science labs, chemistry labs, and a chemical storage room that are equipped with fume exhaust hoods.

The state-of-the-art facility provides the faculty with tools to maximize their instruction efforts and provide students a first-class education.
