At first glance, the Allendale Water Treatment Plant’s need seemed simple; increase the height of the existing concrete digester tanks. But once Grand River Construction began work, the problems became obvious. The tanks were oblong and the walls were out of plumb. So we corrected those issues even as we made the requested upgrade within the tight tolerances specified. As always, this work was performed under the guidance and direction of Grand River Construction’s full-time safety director, who made daily visits to the site to ensure all of the necessary precautions were being taken.
