Scope Of Work

Approximately 250 drilled shafts were performed with diameters ranging from 24” to 60” with maximum depths exceeding 90’. This was a turn key project—excluding hauling drilled shaft spoils offsite and survey layout—with the added requirements of maintaining LEED concrete recycling bins for concrete truck washout locations and the forming of stub-columns ranging from 2’ to 4’ above the top of shaft. Some shafts were produced using typical dry drilling methods, but multiple shafts required concrete be poured using underwater placement methods, making keeping a clean and safe working environment a substantial task. The geologic formation under the building pad consisted almost exclusively of sand with significant groundwater throughout project. The presence of these two conditions brought extra consideration for pumping water out of the shafts and consistently cleaning the working platform in addition to requiring underwater placement.
