Scope Of Work
W. E. Bowman Construction, Inc. completed phase one of three renovations of the historic Stewart-Lee House, c.1844, for our Client’s new office building. Phase one of the renovation included exterior masonry restoration; roof repairs and replacement of the Annex roof; masonry chimney reconstruction, with associated structural repairs; and architectural and structural repairs to the historic rear porches, including replacing the flooring and paneled ceilings. We also completed interior improvements of the Annex and Carriage House for future tenants. Other exterior improvements were added to phase one, as funding became available for additional scope, including installation of a new sump drainage system at the English basement, sitework preparation required for installation of a new fiber optic line, and a metal roof flashing system at the Carriage House front balcony. We worked closely with the project owner, owner’s representative, Commonwealth Architects, and DHR to maximize Historic Tax Credits; particular emphasis was on matching existing conditions with new mortar at front facade elevation.
