Scope Of Work
In March 2017, Welty and Akron Children’s Hospital broke ground on the 230,000 square foot addition to the hospital’s seven-story Considine Professional Building. The new building design will relocate most of the hospital’s ambulatory and subspecialty practices, and will connect to the main hospital and Kay Jewelers Pavilion with an elevated bridge. The project is being completed using Integrated Lean Project Delivery (ILPD), a system that encourages open and honest collaboration and works to eliminate construction waste, creating a successful outcome for all parties involved.
The Construction was completed in Summer 2018, several departments will re-locate into the new space, including:

Pediatric psychology and psychiatry
Pediatric gastroenterology
General surgery
Genetics
Infectious disease
Locust Pediatric Care Group
Vision Center
Outpatient lab and pharmacy
Pediatric rheumatology
