Scope Of Work

MSP provided master planning and architectural design services for the development of North Pointe at Union Centre, a new office park located in West Chester, Ohio. Developed by Duke Construction for GE Aviation, North Pointe at Union Centre consolidates an engineering staff of 1,600 from three Cincinnati satellite locations into one accessible location.

The first phase of the master plan called for two 4-story office buildings with a combined floor area in excess of 400,000 SF. To accommodate budget and time constraints, the buildings were created using the design-build construction delivery method. An additional 350,000 SF of office space is slated for Phase II of the development.

The buildings were designed to utilize concrete tilt-up panels. A variety of design techniques were used to develop depth and variation in the spatial relationships between the floors on the exterior. These techniques include varying color tones and two distinct types of glass, using black and antique silver reflective glazing and limited appliqués.
