Scope Of Work

Butler Tech desired a significant design statement on I-75 to establish the brand for the cutting edge education delivery concept for the Bioscience Center. Developed utilizing sustainable design principles, the 32,000 SF facility is a two-story steel frame structure with a basement. The building’s exterior is a rainscreen construction with metal panels, glass curtain wall, and brick veneer. The initial configuration of this two-phased project is designed to accommodate an additional 18,000 SF third story in the future.

The facility is programmed and designed to support the education delivery concepts of flipped classrooms and blended learning for health care and bioscience. It is one of the first of its kind in the country for a career learning center. Classrooms and labs are designed for flexible layout with a two-story commons area for huddle rooms and open student collaboration spaces. The facility provides programs for Bioscience, State Tested Nursing, Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Exercise Science, and Project Lead the Way.
