Scope Of Work

McKissack, as part of the State University Construction Fund’s (SUCF) On-Call ConstructionManagement (CM)?Services contract, provided construction management services for three projects at SUNY College of Optometry: (1) the rehabilitation of research floors 16 & 17, which included a new fire sprinkler system (2) the rehabilitation of electrical systems, which included the replacement of electrical systems in the 18-story building, asbestos abatement of the entire sub-basement and roof areas, delivering a 750Kw diesel generator on the roof and (3) the rehabilitation of the school’s Lecture Hall, which included the demolition of the old lecture room and build-out of a new room in an occupied building, which included fire sprinkler systems.

The electrical systems scope of work included new electrical risers, extensive switchgear replacement, and an emergency generator. During the course of the project, McKissack coordinated with City agencies to avoid interruptions to ongoing operations.

Scheduling of this work presented a challenge due to the fact that the school was occupied and the work on the electrical system required numerous shutdowns. McKissack worked closely with the College to make sure that there was minimal to no disruption to school activities.
