Objectives

Integrate AV presentation systems in the employee training rooms, used to train the 2400+ employees

Install surround sound systems as well as built-in TVs in the hotel

Create even audio distribution throughout the gaming floor, players’ lounges, restaurants and promenade

Background:

Located 75 miles east of Chicago in New Buffalo, , Four Winds Casino Resort was the first land-based casino in Southeast . The entertainment complex is composed of a 130,000 square foot casino, a 165-room suite hotel, six restaurants, entertainment bars and retail shops. Four Winds Casino Resort draws millions of visitors to the area each year.

Challenge:

Integrating Low-Voltage IP based technology into such a vast and complex facility is a challenging, multi-faceted project. Four Winds tapped Shen, Milsom & Wilke, a communications technology and acoustic consulting firm to design the audio and video systems and the data center. Pentegra Systems was chosen to integrate the systems onto the IP network. Constant use of these systems required ease of operation and maximum dependability. Pentegra was also responsible for seamlessly integrating the state-of-the-art presentation systems in Four Winds’ corporate boardrooms.

Solution:

We integrated AV presentation systems in the employee training rooms, used to train the 2400+ employees. NEC projectors & JBL ceiling speakers with Extron switching & AMX offered the reliability necessary for the project. JBL surround sound systems as well as Electric Mirror© built-in TVs were installed in the hotel. Audio distribution throughout the gaming floor, players’ lounges, restaurants and promenade was successfully accomplished using BSS Soundweb London CobraNet components transmitting to 83 different zones. Different music selections can now be played in various zones throughout the casino complex and the system also accommodates paging used to announce raffle winners and special casino events. Video feeds are distributed throughout Four Winds to over 440 video displays which may be configured to show satellite TV provided by a Dish Network system or internal promotional content.

Results:

Pentegra Systems successfully completed the integration of all of these systems that are used everyday to enhance the entertainment experience that Four Winds Casino Resort was designed to provide. Pentegra’s AV integration brings the entire Four Winds Casino Resort to life 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
