Scope Of Work
Conceived by Philadelphia Zoo in collaboration with CLR Design, and designed and built by CVM and CVMNEXT, Meerkat Maze is an extension of Zoo360, a first-in-the-world animal exhibit that allows animals to roam around and above Zoo grounds. A network of trails and lookout towers connected to the meerkats’ indoor home at the Small Mammal House, Meerkat Maze creates a new frontier for the meerkats to dig, explore and keep a lookout. Running alongside is a parallel trail for kids so they can get eye to eye and nose to nose with these amazing mammals.
Demanding expertise in engineering, design and construction, this project leveraged the broad and unique capabilities of CVMNEXT. The result is an attractive, interactive addition to the Zoo that still meets the stringent demands of the curatorial staff and regulatory agencies, prioritizing the health and safety of guests and animals.
