Scope Of Work
As part of the first implementation phase of Temple University’s ambitious 20 / 20 Master Plan, a $52 million face-lift and expansion was completed at Pearson McGonigle Halls – one of the university’s primary recreational facilities. This signature project redefined Temple’s presence on Broad Street, and included renovation of the existing building and construction of a 140,000 square foot LEED- certified addition. The new building provides retail space on Broad Street, a Division I practice venue for the University’s basketball teams, and enhanced student recreation facilities.
To manage this complex undertaking, the University engaged CVMNEXT in a joint venture with H2L2 Architects (now NELSON). In this capacity, we provided structural engineering, overall project management and design control throughout the duration of the project. This innovative project delivery model allowed CVMNEXT to engage directly in the management of sustainability issues and to provide ongoing cost modeling and schedule monitoring, while maintaining design integrity.
