Scope Of Work

Phoenix International Raceway, also known as PIR, is a one-mile, low-banked tri-oval race track located in Avondale, Arizona. The motorsport track opened in 1964 and currently hosts two NASCAR race weekends annually. PIR has also hosted the Indy Car Series, CART, USAC and the Rolex Sports Car Series.

Sound Image upgraded the Audio systems for the facility. SLS Line Arrays were used for the main audience areas and Grandstand to provide clear and even coverage for spectators. JBL loudspeakers provide distributed audio thru out the facility including the Octane Lounge, inner track and private suites. To meet the demands of the great distances the audio systems need to cover, a Fiber Optic distribution system was installed to get the signals to their appropriate Crown I-Tech and 70v amplifiers.

Technologies:
• SLS 6593 Loudspeakers
• JBL Control Series Loudspeakers
• Crown CTS & I-Tech series Amplifiers
• Shure & Sennhieser wireless systems
• HP ProCurve switches, Corning & CSI Fiber Optic cable and distribution
