Scope Of Work
The Elkin Mausoleum was built in 1916 with Mt Airy Granite from North Carolina. then, it has not only as a memorial place for the Elkin family but also serves as a tribute to the designers and craftsmen who conceived and constructed the structure. This structure represents some of the finest examples of architectural style meeting the highest form of stone masonry craftsmanship. The skill required in draftsmanship, forethought, planning, and stone cutting to execute a project like this is a dying art in the industry.
The scope of work for this project included pressure washing the entire building to remove dirt, biological growth, and advanced efflorescence, sealing the roof using a combination of lead sheet, lead caulking and lead joint covers, pointing all above grade mortar joints 100%, re-aligning and anchoring one of the granite door jambs and rehanging some of the interior marble slabs that had become detached.
