Ann Arbor Public Schools has experienced a large growth spurt over the past several years. This year was no exception, as they expected a growth of about 600 additional students for the 2018-2019 school year.
The increase in students has caused the school some concerns as they are currently maxed out at several of their facilities. Ann Arbor decided to add sixteen new floors for an additional 16,576 square feet total split up between two separate sites.
Mitchell Elementary School added onto their existing modular classroom building. The new addition included (8) floors, (6) new classrooms, one new Flex Room, (2) Offices, and a Boys and Girls Restroom which each included three lavatories (Toilets), and two water closets (Sinks).
Wines Elementary School required that we tear-down two separate duplex buildings which stood in the way of our new building. The new building included (8) new floors, (6) new classrooms, one new Flex Room, (1) Office, (1) Staff Restroom, (1) I.T. Closet, (1) Custodial Closet, and a Boys and Girls Restroom which each included three lavatories (Toilets), and two water closets (Sinks).
The project has been successfully completed on time and within budget.
