Scope Of Work
The Lewis County Transfer Station had a failed drainage system in there tipping floor where all of the counties trash is brought and dumped. All drainage had failed and the existing drainage system was filled with concrete and abandoned. To fix the problem we sawcut and removed reinforced concrete ranging from 12"- 42" thick so we could locate the abandoned drain line. At 42" depth through the reinforced concrete we found and verified the 6" drainage line. From their we transitioned to pvc and stubbed up into a custom poured catch basin and traffic rated grate/lid to withstand the traffic of their 60,000lbs wheeled loader. We also hammered and removed concrete from their abandoned channel drains that also feed into our custom catch basin. Inside our catch basin is also a custom built and removable basket to catch any incoming debris bigger that 1/4" to prevent future clogging and failure. The challenges that we had to overcome throughout this project include the strength of the concrete, and locating /connecting to the correct drain line as it was deep and broke. We had to chase the pipe underground cut and connect to it with very limited space to work.
