Scope Of Work

Robins & Morton constructed the 25,000-square-foot, $10 million National Intrepid Center of Excellence satellite facility in Fort Hood, Texas. The facility is funded by the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, and serves as a state-of-the-art facility to treat soldiers experiencing traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress and related complications. The facility offers an intake/clinic area, physical therapy, massage/acupuncture, art therapy, living skills and kitchen areas, a “central park” area for relaxation and meditation, and a family room where families can relax together during breaks from treatment.

After the Intrepid Center was complete, the building was gifted to Fort Hood to become part of its command, with the capabilities to treat about 1,000 service members each year. With roughly 40,000 soldiers stationed at Fort Hood, it is the largest active duty armored post in the United States Armed Services.
