Scope Of Work
Named in honor of Macon philanthropist Beverly Knight Olson and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the 160,000-square-foot Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital in Macon, Georgia, is a nationally-recognized, American College of Surgeons Level I trauma center. This $72.5 million addition and renovation took 20 months to complete and includes 66 NICU beds, 21 pediatric critical care beds, 23 general pediatric beds, four operating rooms and more.
The children’s hospital is the only pediatric imaging center in central and South Georgia and serves patients from 50 counties in Georgia. Additionally, the project team was comprised of 80% local contractors and vendors, making it a facility built “by the people and for the people of Macon,” said Superintendent Jeff Jones.
