Scope Of Work

Stief Concrete was awarded the unique opportunity to be a part of a team of contractors, who constructed Chester County Tactical Village, a training facility for the area’s first responders and the first of its kind in the region.  The village was designed to provide a safe, true-to-life environment, in which first responders are able to practice and refine rescue skills.  Stief Concrete built seven different fire simulation buildings, totaling about 30,000 square feet.  Two of the buildings were multi-story, and were constructed of shored slab, sloped to drain. The remaining five buildings were smaller, on grade buildings, to be used for both training and storage. Because of the critical nature of the floor slope, the project architect specified that if it did not drain properly, it would be torn out and completely re-built. No remedial work would be permitted.

In addition to the above structures, the project included a 35 foot tall concrete retaining wall, designed to simulate an urban fire emergency, cast-in-place concrete stairs, 46,325 square feet of 6 inch concrete pavement, 4,500 square feet of broom finished sidewalks, and 1,200 square feet of colored and stamped concrete sidewalks.  As a whole, the project consisted of 2,345 cubic yards of concrete and 81 tons of reinforcing steel.
