Scope Of Work
Superior Construction recently finished our Gary / Chicago International Airport Runway Rehabilitation Phases I & II project. This project included a rebuild of fifty percent of the main runway, among several other activities during the FAA 30-day mandated runway closure. We completed the rehabilitation two days ahead of schedule. We also successfully completed this project with zero safety incidents. Another major success was the partnering efforts between Superior Construction, the owner, design engineer, on-site inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors. Without the true teamwork, this completion and success would not have been possible.
We also recently completed the third phase of the Gary / Chicago Airport Runway Rehabilitation project, which required multiple runway and taxiway closures with expedited schedules. We removed and reinstalled runways and taxiways during a 21-day closure while working 24 hours a day / seven days a week. The primary contributing factors to the success were constant communication, coordination, and collaboration amongst the entire project team. This is just one great example of how the Superior Construction team engages all the stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
