Dixie Anchoring System Steel Piers were installed to support a new foundation system. The project consisted of installing a new foundation below an existing building with only twelve (12) feet of vertical clearance. South Coast Helix Foundations, Inc. installed twenty (20) helix steel piers each to carry a 12,000 lb load required by the U.S Coast Guard Engineer. Each helix steel pier was a 1 ½" x 1 ½" rounded corner solid square steel shaft with a triple lead section consisting of an 8", 10" & 12" diameter bearing plates. The helix steel piers were advanced to depths of twenty-seven (27) and thirty-two (32) feet. The top attachment bracket for new construction (plate series) was then bolted to the top of the helix steel piers. The project was completed in two (2) days!
